Wonderful Chicken, Potato, and Gravy Crock Pot

This delicious chicken crockpot recipe was developed after experimenting with quite a few ingredient compositions. I the cream of celery soup gave a better flavor than the cream of mushroom soup usually used. The other ingredient that helped in the flavor department is the smoked sausage. Most of my own recipes use chicken or fish as the base "meat" ingredient, but in this case I think this is a case where "less is more" because of the high flavor concentration of the sausage. Having worked in many labs during my career, it's a great feeling to be making experiments you can eat, something you can't do in most chemlabs.

Ingredients:

3 chicken drumsticks, skin on, bone in

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cans cream of celery soup

2 cloves garlic, minced

4 medium potatoes, prebaked, cooled and peeled

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 chicken bouillon cube

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1/2 tsp ground thyme

1 bay leaf

3 oz smoked sausage, sliced crossways about 1/8" thick

1 cup chicken broth (or water)

Instructions:

1 - Add the olive oil to a skillet, then saute' onion until translucent.

2 - Add garlic and cook for no longer than 1 minute. (gets bitter if you don't)

2 - Remove with slotted spoon and put in slow cooker.

3 - Add chicken pieces to same skillet and lightly brown for about 5 minutes.

4 - Add the chicken and all the other ingredients to the crock

pot and cook on high for 4-5 hours or until chicken is tender.

Comment - Words to describe this crock pot meal are hard to find but scrumptious comes to mind, along with unbelievably delicious!

Crockpot Macaroni Cheese Recipe and 3 More Delicious Crockpot Recipes

I know that a lot of you have at least one of these efficient and time saving appliances hidden away somewhere in your kitchen collecting dust. You probably thought that the Crockpot was just for making soups or stews.

Well, below are some easy to prepare and delicious Crockpot recipes you can try at home:

1. 16 Bean Soup

Ingredients:

- 1 package 16 Bean Soup
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon crushed oregano
- 2 cans no-fat chicken stock
- Additional water to cover
- 3 stalks celery chopped
- 3 carrots diced
- 1 large onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic sliced
- 1 pound turkey Italian sausage sliced
- 2 cans stewed (or diced) tomatoes

Directions:

- Combine first 5 ingredients (liquid should cover mixture by 1"-2") in Crock Pot Cook on high for 2hours.
- Add remaining ingredients and shift cooker to low and cook for additional 3 hours

- For more zing, add cayenne or crushed red pepper when adding second set of ingredients.

Serve as complete meal or over rice.

Freezes well.

2. All Day Crockpot Delight

Ingredients:

- 2-3 lbs. boneless chuck, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 c. beer
- 1/4 c. flour

Directions:

- Coat beef cubes with the 1/2 cup flour.
- Brown in melted butter.
- Drain off excess fat. In crock pot, combine browned meat with onion, salt, pepper, garlic and beer.
- Cover and cook on low 5-7 hours (all day) until meat is tender.
- Turn control to high.
- Dissolve remaining 1/4 cup flour in small amount of water.
- Stir into meat mixture, cook on high 30-40 minutes.
- Serve with rice and salad.

3. All Day Macaroni and Cheese

Ingredients:

- 8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
- 4 cups (16 ounces) shredded sharp Chedder Cheese
- 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
- 1 1 /2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

- Place the cooked macaroni in crockpot that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
- Add the remaining ingredients, all except 1 cup of the cheese, mix well.
- Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of cheese and then cover and cook on low setting for 5 to 6 hours or until the mixture is firm and golden around the edges.
- Do not remove the cover or stir until it has finished cooking.

4. Apple Brown Betty

Ingredients:

- 3 lbs. cooking apples
- 10 slices of bread, cubed (about 4 cups)
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted

Directions:

- Wash apples, peel, core, cut into eighths; place in bottom on crock.
- Combine bread cubes, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, butter; toss together.
- Place on top of apples in crock. Cover.
- Place crock into outer shell.
- Cook on low setting 2 to 4 hours.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Crockpot Cooking - Advantages and Disadvantages

In my 'un-biased' opinion, the crockpot / slow cooker
is one of the most convenient and easy to use appliances
in my kitchen. The time savings features of the
slow cooker and the delicious dinners that have
resulted more than offset any minor drawbacks.

Before I list my top reasons why the crockpot is the
most useful appliance in any kitchen, I will list
a few of the areas where it does not perform as well.

- Large cuts of meat such as boneless prime rib or
leg of lamb are still best when oven roasted.

- Except for stews and chowders, the slow cooker
does not cook fish very well.

- The slow cooker collects a lot of the juices
since the steam does not escape during cooking and these
juices can become diluted and watery, which can affect
the flavoring of the food.

- If not careful, a slow cooker can overcook food -especially
some of the more tender meats and poultry.

These drawbacks are relatively minor compared to the
positives which I will list now.

- The slow cooker needs virtually no tending while
it cooks, freeing you up to do other chores or recipes.

- The slow cooker will tenderize less expensive, tough
cuts of meat and make great stews out of them.

- The slow cooker allows you to be out of the kitchen
for extended periods of time -sometimes even all day.

- Burning your food is rarely a problem. The slow cooker
will make many dishes for you better than any other
appliance -especially those that tend to stick to
the bottom of a pan.

In my opinion the slow cooker is one of the most
under-utilized and yet superior of kitchen appliances.
When used for what it does best, you will find that you
are able to prepare great dishes in less time than you
though possible!

Crockpot recipes pork and beef ribs

If you're looking for slow cooking ribs recipes, here are two to try. I think it more than once. I've included a recipe for pork ribs and beef casserole. Both recipes are easy and quick to do together. Both recipes taste very good, very tender meat. I think you'll be glad you tried.

Spareribs

Ingredients

3:02 ribs Books
1 can tomato soup
1 small onion,chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
3 teaspoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon teaspoon black pepper

Preparation:

Place ribs in slow cooker.

Mix soup, onion, garlic, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Sauce in saucepan and stir to coat the ribs on all sides. Cover with a lid.

Set the crockpot on low heat and cook for 5-7Hours. Ribs are done when the meat is tender and separates easily from the bone. Do not overcook or the meat off the bone in the sauce.

Tip: You can substitute thick country-style ribs to ribs, but have until cooking time of one hour.

Ribs

Ingredients

4:03 coast pounds of beef, defatted
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
2.1 tsp thyme
2.1 teaspoon dry mustard
V. 2.1 The black teaPepper
03:01 Cup of flour
2 packages Instant French Onion Soup
2 cups water

Preparation:

In a bowl mix the flour with water to a paste. Add the remaining water, brown sugar, garlic, thyme, mustard, pepper and dry soup mix. Mix well.

Recommendations beef casserole or slow cooker. Mix until all parts of the ribs are coated with a mixture of spices. Cover with a lid.

Set the crockpot on LOW for 8-9 hours or HIGHSetup for 4 1 / 2 to 5 January / 2 hours. Ribs are done when soft and easily torn from the bones.

Tip: Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes prepared. Leftover beef is wide open face roast beef sandwiches use.

My Grill and My Cooker

In hot weather, my grill and my crock pot are like brothers and sisters fighting for the enemies of my attention to dinner. I like my pot and find perfect in every season, but in the warmer months, there is nothing like the unique taste of food on the grill.

Just like my crock pot, do not limit my grilled meats. Vegetables, potatoes, grilled all the love! And, like any other kind of cooking, the grill can be simple or complex as youchoose.

Quick and easy recipes for the grill

One of my favorite recipes easily and quickly fry the chicken is marinating in Italian dressing. Take the sauce and chicken in a container in the morning and throw on the grill for dinner. Within 30 minutes (more or less depending on thickness of chicken), you can have dinner on the table. In combination with pasta salads pre-cured meats and groceries you have a fast and easy to create stressMeals.

Want to grill chicken? I love being on the grid, but I hate waiting. I cook my chicken in advance, cook them completely. Then I marinate in my favorite barbecue sauce. When you are ready for dinner, I grilled for 30 minutes. Knowledge, baked chicken, I do not worry, I'm just cooking for flavor.

Kebabs are another summer favorite. I cut the vegetables and meat, marinate in bottles of sauce marinade, skewered and grilled. Instead of bamboo skewers, where IDo you worry about soaking them for hours, I use metal skewers.

I also like grilled vegetables. vegetables cut into small pieces, marinated in olive oil, salt, seasoned pepper, and grill. to be back in 25-30 minutes, you have a delicious meal and your kitchen and home heating to cook! I used a combination of the following vegetables: red onion and yellow, red, green or yellow peppers, zucchini, mushrooms and asparagus.

Nothingsweet corn in late summer. Soak the ears, husks soak for at least 45 minutes. Grill over medium-low for 30-45 minutes, envelopes and good luck!

Of course, there are also toasted, but not limited to burgers. chicken breast sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, creativity!

Grilli and your slow cooking

While the kitchen can be a very expensive event, as all my other recipes can beorganize quickly and easily. U.S. navy ready, rubs and sauces for steak. As I mentioned before kids, clip them to be able to prepare properly. "I use my crockpot and my grill, cook the brats in beer cans in front 1-2 with a chopped onion and 2-3 cloves of garlic in my crockpot on low for 8 hours, then grill for flavor and color directly. Serve

Better yet, use the barbecue and slow cooking your side by side. Use one for meat and one for pages, but use them literally side by side. Let's Get Cookin!: Slow Cooker Lasagna

For those who can not read subtitles or comments: E 'was delicious. Half of the ricotta was my only suggestion. Get your slow cooker of the damned. Let's Cook. 1 lb. Ground Turkey or Italian seasoning cook hamburgers Turkey / Hamburger with Italian dressing and set aside. 1 4 oz can mushrooms 1 15 oz container ricotta cheese (I just want to eliminate half of that next time) 1 package shredded cheese 1 jar part mozarrella spaghetti sauce 1:03 C. Some of lasagna sheets of water. Spray the oven with Pam. Mix 1.3C. glass of water with spaghetti sauce. Layer four noodles, half of Turkey / hamburger, mushrooms, half the spaghetti sauce, ricotta and half the mozzarella. Repeat with the other half of half of Turkey / hamburger, mushrooms, half the spaghetti sauce and half the mozzarella. Turn up to an hour. Turn down to five hours. Go do something constructive. Three recipes chicken crockpot

My slow cooker gets lots of requests. In winter it is beautiful, a hot meal ready when we get home at night to have. And in summer, it's nice not to go in the oven during the hot days. I wish our favorite recipes with some chicken crock pot:

Chicken and vegetables in slow cooker

4-6 pieces of chicken
16 oz frozen vegetables
1 can cream of celery
8 ounces shredded cheese

There are manyCombinations for this recipe. If using chicken, use 3-4 of them. If your thighs, use 4-6 of them. If I buy frozen vegetables, try the combination package of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. You can also use artichoke hearts or asparagus. It really depends on the flavor desired. If you prefer fresh vegetables, chopped celery, carrots, onions, broccoli, cauliflower and onions too.

I'm not a fan of mushrooms, so I do not use the cream. Play with manycream soups. Try the cream of celery or cream of broccoli or any other family favorite. When it comes to cheese, I try to use a combination of cheddar and Monterey Jack. I think it offers a wonderful taste. Other people like the taste of Swiss cheese or Italian cheese blend.

Place chicken in slow cooker mix. The rest of the ingredients and pour over chicken. Boil five minutes before Sechs watch. To a large area, rather than before a little 'cheese more than ten minutes. Serving our other favorite crockpot recipe chicken is the chicken and the stuffing:

to fill a box mix
4-6 pieces of chicken
2 cans cream of chicken soup

Follow the instructions on the package mix to moisten the stuffing around. Instead of the stuffing in a baking dish in your slow cooker that will spread. Place the chicken over the filling. Now, pour the soup. Depending on the size of your slow cooker, you may be tired of soup. If you usetwo cans of soup, can be considered as a chicken broth and a can of cream of the cream of broccoli soup.

Cook six to eight hours on low heat.

The last recipe I share with you is like the chicken and vegetables. I call it chicken and fruit, as you can while 'fruit in this way:

4-6 pieces of chicken
1 can of fruit
1 onion, quartered
normal chicken broth (optional)

We tried it with peaches, apricots and pineapple. Each recipe came out great. SetChicken in bottom of slow cooker. Put the onions in chicken. Put fruit on top, with the liquid from fruit. If you do not have enough liquid from the fruit in plain Add the chicken stock until you get the right amount of liquid. Simmer for six to eight hours. I hope your family loves these dishes, as my family does.

Asian inspired cuisine and snow peas beef

You will need: round steak 2 1 / 2 pounds, 1 cup of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons teaspoon grated fresh ginger 2 cloves garlic, grated or chopped 2 tablespoons cooking oil 2 cups peas

Cut a round steak into 4 equalPieces. Place steak in your crockpot so. In another bowl, whisk together the next 4 ingredients and pour over the meat. Cover the pan and cook over low heat for about 6 hours or until meat is nice and soft. Bake in the last 15 minutes, add the snow peas. Serve over cooked rice.

Pea soup with ham

You will need: 1 pound bag of peas, two pounds of ham, diced 3 cloves garlic, minced or grated, 1 medium yellowfinely chopped onion, 3 ribs celery, diced, 8.1 teaspoon black pepper 7 cups of cold water and cool, 5 chicken bouillon cubes

All the ingredients in your slow cooking. Turn your crock pot on low heat and simmer for 6-7 hours. Lift the lid of the cooking time about various times and give a guide mix so that the peas not only remain on the bottom of the crockpot

Beef and Bean Chili Triple

You will need: 2 pounds lean ground beef, 2 mediumyellow onion, diced 1 green pepper, diced 2 ribs celery, 3 cloves garlic, diced, minced 2 (16 ounce) cans diced tomatoes 2 (16 ounce) cans chickpeas, 1 (16 ounce) can beans butter, 1 (16 oz) beans blacks, 1 (15 ounces) 3 tablespoons chicken broth teaspoon chili powder, 1 / 2 c. teaspoon ground cumin, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon salt

brown ground beef and pour off excess fat. All the ingredients in your slow cooker and mix.Cover the pan and cook over low heat for about 6 hours. I serve in large bowls with a dollop of low fat yogurt and a pinch of chives. You can use ', fill what your diet allows!

Stewed chicken and dumplings Cooker

Directions:

Stir in 6 cups of rice Krispen. Press into buttered 13x9 tempered "Let the pan. Pkg.choc together in a water bath at 16 ounces Chips. 1 16 oz Pkg butterscotch chips to mixture comprises Krispies MixMixture. Refrigerate until top is firm. Cut into bars. So, enjoy! CLASSIC CHILE - Slow Cooker Style

Ingredients

1 1 / 2 chopped

1 1 / 2 cups chopped onion

1 cup green bell pepper

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 cans (15 ounces each dark red) beans, rinsed and drained

2 cans (15 ounces each sauce) tomato

1 can (14 oz diced tomatoes, drained

2-3 teaspoons chili powder

1-2 teaspoons of dry mustard and warm

4.1 V. dried teaBasil

V. 2.1 tsp black pepper

1-2 Dry Hot Chili Peppers (optional)]

Instructions

Cook ground meat, onions, peppers and garlic in a large skillet until meat is browned and onion is tender. Stir occasionally. Drain fat and discard. Pour the mixture into a quart slow cooking 5.

Add beans, tomatoes, tomatoes, chili powder, mustard, basil, and pepper and mix well. Cover over low heat for 8-10 hours orhigh for 4-6 hours.

Advice
