Cheesecake in a crockpot? It is true... not only can you make cheesecake in your crockpot, but you can make many other desserts in there, too. We normally think of a crockpot as a great vessel for making stew, soup, or a roast; any main dish that takes a long time to cook. In reality, crockpots are even more versatile and can be used for baking as well as creating sauces and side dishes.
Using your crockpot for dessert is a great way to add more dishes when your oven is already occupied. Think about using it during the holidays as you are preparing your feasts. The oven is usually full of turkey or ham, so why not make some dessert in the crockpot at the same time? You can also use the crockpot when you are trying to save energy or prevent the house from heating up on a hot day. Crockpots use only pennies an hour and the heat they produce is much less than heating up your oven.

Recipe for Creamy Orange Crockpot Cheesecake
What You Need
3/4 cup cookie or graham cracker crumbs 2 Tablespoons sugar 3 Tablespoons butter, melted 16 ounces cream cheese 2/3 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 egg yolk 1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed 1 teaspoon orange or lemon zest 1 Tablespoon flour 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
How to Make It
Mix the crumbs with the 2 tablespoons of sugar, and then add in the melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are moistened evenly. Pat the crumbs into the bottom of a 7 inch springform pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream the 2/3 cup sugar and cream cheese together until it is smooth. Add the whole eggs and the yolk. Beat for approximately 3 minutes on medium with a hand held mixer. Beat in the vanilla, flour, zest, and orange juice. Beat for 2 more minutes.
Pour the batter into the prepared crust. Set an aluminum foil ring or a rack on the bottom of your crockpot. Set the springform pan on top of this so it does not sit right on the bottom of your cooker.
Cover the crockpot and cook the cheesecake on high for 2-1/2 to 3 hours. Turn the crockpot off and let the cheesecake rest inside the closed pot for another hour or two until it is cool enough to remove.
Let the cheesecake finish cooling before removing the springform pan sides. Chill before serving.
