Crockpot Cooking - Advantages and Disadvantages

In my 'un-biased' opinion, the crockpot / slow cooker
is one of the most convenient and easy to use appliances
in my kitchen. The time savings features of the
slow cooker and the tasty dinners that have
resulted more than offset any minor drawbacks.

Before I list my top reasons why the crockpot is the
most useful appliance in any kitchen, I will list
a few of the areas where it does not accomplish as well.

Crockpot

- Large cuts of meat such as boneless prime rib or
leg of lamb are still best when oven roasted.

Crockpot Cooking - Advantages and Disadvantages

- Except for stews and chowders, the slow cooker
does not cook fish very well.

- The slow cooker collects a lot of the juices
since the steam does not escape while cooking and these
juices can become diluted and watery, which can affect
the flavoring of the food.

- If not careful, a slow cooker can overcook food -especially
some of the more tender meats and poultry.

These drawbacks are relatively minor compared to the
positives which I will list now.

- The slow cooker needs virtually no tending while
it cooks, freeing you up to do other chores or recipes.

- The slow cooker will tenderize less expensive, tough
cuts of meat and make great stews out of them.

- The slow cooker allows you to be out of the kitchen
for extended periods of time -sometimes even all day.

- Burning your food is rarely a problem. The slow cooker
will make many dishes for you better than any other
appliance -especially those that tend to stick to
the bottom of a pan.

In my understanding the slow cooker is one of the most
under-utilized and yet first-rate of kitchen appliances.
When used for what it does best, you will find that you
are able to get ready great dishes in less time than you
though possible!

Advantages Of Cooking With A Crockpot

When you cook at home, you have a variety of appliances that you can use. If you turn on weekend morning television, there is bound to be a number of appliances for sell that will argue to make home cooking easier. One appliance that has been around for awhile is the crockpot or the slow cooker. While it is a dated technology, it still has many advantages that you might consider using it to make your meals at home.

The first advantage is that it is relatively safe. It's one of the few cooking appliances that you can leave on and leave the house with it running without any major concern of it damaging your home. Many other appliances can't be used this way and be that safe.

Crockpot

In your crockpot everything inside will absorb the flavors better. You can get great tasting meat while your vegetables also absorb some of that meat flavor at the same time. Everything cooks in it's own juices. This is a bit harder to do with other cooking tools.

You can put the meal in the morning and let it cook all day long. Once you get home from work it's going to be ready to serve and eat. It takes the excuse out of cooking versus getting unhealthy fast food.

What is nice about these appliances is that it will rarely ever burn your food even if you end up cooking it longer than you had planned. You won't scorch your food like you would in oven type appliances.

If you do it right, you will have limited clean up. Really you only have to clean the one dish. You can also purchase sleeves that fit inside the crockpot that will let you just pull it out and throw it away not cleaning anything.

In the summer time, it won't heat up your house like your oven does. This keeps the temperature down and saves you money.

Crockpot Cooking - It Has Its Advantages

Whether you choose to call it a crockpot or a slow cooker it is one of the most easy to use and downright convenient appliances in any kitchen. And so versatile. In fact, when you think of all the time that can be saved by using a slow cooking crockpot and all of the delicious meals that you can produce in it, every home should have one.

Here are just three advantages to cooking the crockpot way:

Crockpot

(i) Cooking slow allows you to keep on the go. Your crockpot doesn't require constant watching. Just leave it alone and get on with all the other things that you doubtless need to do and let the crockpot get on with the job of cooking your meal. Nothing else to do? Lucky you. Put your feet up girl (or boy) and take easy.

(ii) If you are using a cheaper - and tougher - cut of meat - the crockpot will tenderize it for you and you can make some really great stews.

(iii) Your crockpot is less likely to burn your food or cause it to stick to the bottom of the pan and so you can say a little prayer of thanks when it come to the washing up.

Okay. I won't deny it. A crockpot isn't a pan for all occasions. With the exceptions of stews and chowders, they don't cook fish very well. They are less than ideal too for cooking some of the larger cuts of meat such as leg of lamb or boneless prime rib. So you'd best stick to traditional roasting methods for these. It is also worth remembering that your crockpot does not allow steam to escape and so some dishes might become impaired by the extra liquid. So versatile it may be, but it has its limits. With so many recipes available for crockpots though, any cook would be spoiled for choice and there is no need for experimentation or guess work in the kitchen. Hmmmm! What't that smell from the kithchen. Gotta go Dinners ready. You can't beat this slow and easy cooking.

Advantages of using the cooking oil filtration system

Image : http://www.flickr.com

A filtration system is a device for cooking oil, the mechanical filtration of frying oil quality to obtain a constant cleaning. If the oil used for frying foods in large quantities, there is a large amount of fine particles that food falls and mixes with the oil. Over time, oil gains color and smell, all caused by particles suspended in oil. For this reason, ceases to cool the oil, a lot of fried food and decrease the quality and appearance of manyThe taste of food expected result.

filtration process

The oil filter is oil from the fryer and filter integrated in the process of oil, which is up to Eighty percent of the oil cleaning materials in suspension. When performed regularly, the oil retains its original quality, a much larger scale. The filter passes the oil through the filter membranes of different density, such as the capture of particles passes through oil filter. The oil is then returned to the fryer, so that the quality of 'oil pumped as close as possible to keep the original as possible.

Advantages of using a filter

The first and most obvious benefit resulting from the use of an oil filter is the fact that the oil retains its original structure, flavor and color. It follows immediately improved consistency of the food is prepared in the fryer. Leaders are always want to maintain the same high standardsQuality of food and are prepared to reduce a fryer with food preparation sediments in advance the causes of this quality. The particles can also taste of cooked food to stick to freshly cooked food, fried foods, even if it is not.

The next big advantage of using a filtration system for cooking oil is the saving of time. There are a lot of time to change the oil in a frying pan output range. Once the oil particles and sediment were contaminated by a point at whichIt is no longer available, the bandwidth must be allowed to do nothing while oil is cooled, so it can be emptied, cleaned and refilled with fresh oil. This process often takes hours long distances. The frequency of this process, which could be reduced dramatically by implementing a system for filtering cooking oil, oil filter, even if it is hot. Thus, the fryer during long periods of time will be used continuously.

Finally, the largestAdvantage of creating a system for filtering cooking oil is saving money. Cooking oil often must be such that food quality has changed to maintain. Reducing the frequency at which the oil is changed, a restaurant or a hotel immediately to save the cost of new oil requirements. Even with the fryer range constantly in use, there is a greater amount of food product to increase revenue potential of a site.
